Juan Camilo Gomez is a passionate about renewable energy and the decarbonisation of the energy systems. He studied chemical engineering and worked later in the oil upstream as drilling fluid engineer in Colombia.

Changing his path, he later decided to study a master in Renewable Energy in Germany. He incorporated to the DLR – Institute of Networked Energy Systems in Germany and is currently participating in the project HySeas III, realising the world's first sea-going hydrogen-powered fuel cell RoPax ferry and a business model for European islands. His main role in the project is conducting environmental, economic and social assessments of the prototype under development.
